How much does it cost to sell on Closet Fashionista?

Closet Fashionista charges a 10% commission to you, the Seller, on the total amount of your sale transaction (postage is not included in this total).

We don't charge listing fees, so if your item doesn't sell within 3 months you pay nothing and have the option to take it off the site. That's all there is to it!

Do you have listing fees?

There are NO listing fees whatsoever on CF, so sell away!

How do I sell?

Selling on Closet Fashionista is designed to be simple. Check out our guidelines on the 'How To Sell' section.

We pride ourselves in selling designer wear in great condition. For this reason, it's mandatory that all goods sold on CF have a minimum original Recommended Retail Price of $40.

How do I buy an item?

Start shopping by clicking on 'Shop Now'. You can search for an item by category or simply browse. Once you've chosen your items, simply click "Add to my Closet". Once you have everything your heart desires, click through to the 'Checkout' and follow the prompts.

Once your payment has been processed, you will receive a confirmation email and the seller will be advised to dispatch your item by Registered Express Post.

What exactly can I sell on CF?

We accept almost all designer and high-end labels. We love near new or new items with tags, but we know that sometimes you wear an item once or twice before deciding to sell it. We ask our Fashionistas to only list items that they know others would love to own. If you wouldn't be happy with the quality of the piece, this is not the right place to list it.

Do you check my items before publishing my listing?

When you load your item up for sale, you will see it move to the "Pending" area. Each day, we review the new items for sale before posting them on the site to ensure that the item is in great condition and there are no discrepancies between the description and the pictures.

How are postage costs calculated?

We prefer to use Express Registered Post, because we know how exciting it is waiting for your parcel to arrive in the mail. You can fit most items into an Registered Express Post envelope or 3 kg satchel which costs $11.30 to send anywhere within Australia. The seller must select which size postage bag is required when listing their item. The buyer then has the option of what kind of postage. The buyer pays for shipping at checkout.

International buyers similarly pay a flat fee for $24 for regular Registered Express Post (which can take up to 10 days depending on the destination country) but are responsible for any import duties/ taxes imposed by their country.

How can I track my package?

We ask all our sellers to update the Australia Post tracking number once item has been posted. You can locate this information by going to “My Closet” and clicking on the item you would like to track. Your tracking number will be listed there.

Does CF sell internationally?

Style is a global thing, darling! We are happy to sell to International buyers provided they are happy to wait for their package to arrive. International buyers may sometimes wait for their parcels for up to two weeks, depending on their country. International Registered Express Post has a fee of $24, and the buyer is responsible for any import duties or taxed imposed by their country.

I haven't received my item. What do I do?

If you do not receive your item in the post in a timely manner and have been tracking it through the Australia Post tracking page, please contact us here and we'll contact the Seller provide an update. If the Seller can't provide us a suitable update, we will request a refund on your behalf. We require all Sellers to use Registered Express Post to ensure the safe delivery of your item.

What happens if my item is lost in the post?

It's a legal requirement of this site that all sellers use Registered Express Post, which provides a tracking number to avoid any lost mail or disputes. The seller is required to provide a tracking number to CF when requested and should also advise when the parcel receipt is confirmed.

What if I don't like the item I have bought?

We've all bought something online and had a change of heart due to size or fit. If you are unhappy with the item, you can relist it on our site within 2 weeks of the original purchase date and you won't be charged a fee when it sells.

If the item you purchased is not as described or in a bad condition, please let us know, and we'll do our best to rectify the situation and request a refund from the Seller. We'll need you to send us photographic evidence that the item was not as described.

Are my banking details secure?

Your details are very secure! We use PayPal to ensure that fast, easy and secure payments can be made from our site.

Do I need a PayPal account to purchase from the site?

As a means of security, we require all our members to have a PayPal account when buying or selling with us. Please note that the email address used to register with Closet Fashionista should be the same one that you have linked to your PayPal account.

How long are my items listed on the site?

If you price your item at a fair value, your item should sell quickly. You can log in at any time to amend your price if you want to increase it or decrease it. After 2 months, we will send you an email to see if you want to decrease your price or are happy to leave it as is.

What if my items don't sell?

Sometimes the right buyer just hasn't come along, and we understand that. If you're item has not sold within 60 days, we'll send you an email with some tips on how to enhance your listing.

What if I have further questions about the items and the information is not listed?

Every now and then you just need that little bit more information! You can send us an email by clicking here or by visting our "Contact Us" page. We'll share your question with the seller and get back to you as quickly as we can.

How many photos can I upload per item?

You can upload up to five pictures per item. Try and show the front, back, and the tag if possible, with a close up shot of any detailing on the item. Don't forget, the first picture you upload will be your main picture. so choose wisely!

How do I know if my item has been sold?

Answer: As soon as your item has sold we will email you to confirm. You'll also receive a similar email when the payment has been processed through Paypal.

Once you've received the second confirmation, that's your cue to mail the item to the Buyer by Express Registered Post.

Your item will be removed from the website once the payment has been received in your bank account.
